Great Granddaddy

Love this photo of Walker celebrating his great granddaddy's 88th birthday. He was so excited to share the day with him and ran straight into the house to hug him the minute we drove up to the farm. I'm sure when he is older he will love hearing all the adventures his great granddaddy had flying for the marines in WW II.

Spirited & {Sweet}

Time flies...

Time flies when your toddler is on the move and into everything {one of her favorite things is to crawl under my desk and turn on off the power strip while I am on the computer!}.

Lately...

Elle is walking everywhere inside and outside - outside being her favorite thing to do at the moment. Loves to swing and requests it daily. Has discovered how to climb into the playset and then slide down the slide on her own which makes mama nervous. Says about 30 or so words including: mama, dada, walker, cracker, milk, cheese, duck, quack quack, car, sun, sonia {our housekeeper}, no {usually said very loudly after Walker has told her no or said right before she takes the outlet covers out of the outlets}, moo, her version of cock a doodle doo, and many more. My favorite is when she says walker the minute she wakes up and when she says dada when she hears the garage door open in the evenings - she walks to the door repeating "da DA" progressively getting louder and louder until he comes inside and is bombarded by dadas.

Walker is {almost} 5! He wanted a chicken campout at grammy & poopah's farm with his cousins this year. He suggested that we give away baby chicks as favors which I told him was an awesome idea but I wasn't sure if Aunt Jenny and Aunt DeeDee would have a place to take care of 3 chickens...he quickly said okay and that he would just pick something from Toys R Us. His favorites these days are: playing with friends, his Nintendo DS, Legos of any kind and building "imagination" things with his blocks. He is such a sweet soul and his teacher always comments on what a creative deep thinker he can be. Elle had to get blood drawn at her 1 year appointment and he came with us and as we walked out of the laboratory I could tell he was upset. I asked him what was wrong and his eyes welled up with tears and he said that it hurt him inside to see Elle upset - to which I replied with tears welling up in my eyes that I felt the same way and what a wonderful brother he was to his baby sister. So we walked out of the hospital all 3 of us with tears in our eyes. I have learned that commercials definitely work on kids - Walker has many items that he feels like we {NEED} to get including the no spill gyroball snack cup for Elle, the 30 second smile toothbrush for me and he needs pretty much every toy that has a commercial because it is so AWESOME.
