Walker has {Ee} week at school and is bringing Elle for show and tell! He said that he was going to tell his class about how she came to the beach with us and how she gave him that cool train.

daddy time
adam spent {a lot} of quality time with both kiddos during our beach trip. he is such a wonderful dad to walker & elle. walker absolutely adores him and would probably spend every waking moment with him if that was possible. elle loves to give him smiles and adores him when he sings to her.
his patience and ability to play amazes me. i listen to him putting walker to bed on the monitor sometimes and it is so sweet i can't help but smile. sometimes they get a little rowdy with some tackling in the bed but usually they have thoughtful conversations, draw letters on walker's back or play "I spy" together. walker always goes to bed a bit later on daddy nights because they have too much fun for me to cut it short. i love watching him with elle. the minute she sees him either after waking up or when he comes home from work she immediately gives him a big grin. adam has already told me that when she is old enough he wants to take her on a daughter/daddy date every weekend. i can already imagine that this will be one of elle's favorite activities. i can picture the two of them shopping together at the galleria and him holding loads of pink, ruffles, tulle, etc. as she decides what to try on and him giving his best fashion advice. it makes me smile to just think about it and she is only 8 months old! i'm so glad that adam is so talented musically because both of our kids really seem to be drawn to music.

we went to watercolor again this year. it was wonderful. this photo sums up how excited both kiddos were to play at the beach.
it is hard to narrow down a favorite memory from our week. here are a few...

playing bowling with walker on the wii and his adorable wind up and lean when he threw the bowling ball
finding shells on the beach with walker and him wanting to find the {tiniest} shell for him, the {most beautiful} shell for me and the most {colorful} shell for daddy
riding bikes as a family with elle in the bike trailer, walker & adam on their bikes
walker and adam kayaking and YOLO boarding together

getting ice cream with rainbow sprinkles everyday again - except walker switching it up and going for the chocolate instead of vanilla

pushing elle in the jogging stroller and racing adam & walker home on their bikes which entailed me {running} in a dress and flip-flops about 1/2 a mile to the house

my birthday dinner at fish out of water and celebration at the house with yummy cupcakes
making it through the airport check-in with 2 kids, 5 bags, 1 stroller and 2 car seats - it made us contemplate driving next year!

bath time
when elle was sick i needed to bathe her during the middle of the day so I decided to try her in the kitchen sink. It turned out to be the perfect place for her! Since that day she has had at least 5 more sink baths since Walker has decided that he likes showers sometimes.
8 months

You are 8 months old today sweet girl!

breastfeeding (including 2-3 times at night still silly girl!)
your big girl carseat and sneaking your little toes out of your shoes while we wait to pick up walker from school
anything that makes music or loud noises
sleeping in your woombie
playing on your alphabet mat with your basket of toys
being on mama's hip (your favorite place I've decided)
afternoon rides in your stroller while walker rides his bike
eating grass, leaves, hair, dirt, etc. - really anything you can get your hands on ends up in your mouth
other fun stuff:
you say dada and dog
you weigh 22 pounds, 3 ounces
your hair is long enough for bows and even a tiny ponytail!
you sleep from 9:30 to 11:45 and 2:30 to 4:00 each day and then go to sleep for the night between 6:30 and 7:00pm
you like to scrunch up your nose when you get excited and make little piggy noises
you love to belly laugh - especially at night before/after your bath
you kick your legs constantly when mama tries to change you and reach back to grab whatever might be in reach
you are a bright light in my day and I just can't imagine our lives without you sweet girl. Walker asks me sometimes if we can just kiss and cuddle on you all day long and I think if you would let us we would - you are just this wonderful little package of love and wonder.
